This learning course will provide you with an enhanced view of diversity and equality in society and in the workplace. The course explores essential topics and will ensure that you have the information and perspective needed to become more socially aware and promote positive diversity around you.

Key topics will be discussed, such as personal and social identities, beliefs, values, stereotyping, labelling, prejudice and discrimination. Specific contexts of disability, race, sexual orientation and religion will be covered.

Training Course Content

This training course is divided into 3 parts and will cover the following content:

Unit 1: Equality and diversity in society

• What is meant by the term ‘equality’
• The effects of stereotyping and labelling

Unit 2: Equality and diversity in the community

• The extent of diversity that exists within a community
• The benefits of equality and diversity

Unit 3: Equality and diversity in the workplace

• How equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees
• The benefits of a diverse workforce
