Qualification Objective
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS).
This qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and
skills to work competently in the nail industry. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, fulfil salon reception duties, develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, promote additional services and products to clients, provide manicure and pedicure services, carry out nail art services and apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish.

How is this qualification structured?
The qualification is made up of eight mandatory, and a selection of optional, units:
• Unit 1 Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
• Unit 2 Fulfil salon reception duties
• Unit 3 Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
• Unit 4 Promote additional services or products to customers
• Unit 5 Provide manicure services
• Unit 6 Provide pedicure services
• Unit 7 Carry out nail art services
• Unit 8 Apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish
How is it assessed?
This qualification is assessed via an internally assessed and externally verified portfolio of evidence.

This qualification is available fully funded under the Adult Skills Fund stream and is free to the candidate.
