- Maintain storage areas in a clean and hygienic condition
- Outline the HACCP approach to food safety.
- Store food items under the correct hygienic conditions, according to the food type
- Outline some details of specifically hazardous bacteria that can be a problem for vegetable products.
- Carry out work in an efficient manner, in line with legal requirements and suitable workplace procedures
- Wash your hands prior to, and keep them clean during, food preparation and cooking
- Maintain food preparation and cooking areas and equipment in a clean and hygienic condition
- Prepare food items under the correct conditions, according to food type
- Remove all waste food from the food preparation area promptly
- Keep all waste bins covered and away from food preparation and cooking areas
- Cleaning of machines and equipment
This eLearning course aims to give trainees knowledge, understanding and basic skills in food hygiene, to include; food storage, handling, preparation, and personal hygiene. It introduces trainees to the risks involved with handling food and to comply with health and safety legislation. The delivery of training is theory based.
